Health Department

  1. Animal Rabies Immunization Clinic

    August 23, 2018, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

    The Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services and Town of Ellington are sponsoring this rabies clinic. Vaccinations will be provided free of charge to all dogs, cats and domesticated ferrets three months of age and older. All pets must be on a leash or in a cage. Pet owners should bring rabies vaccination records for each animal that will be receiving a shot to ensure proper and effective vaccination. Dr. Mary Fales will be the attending veterinarian.

    The Chautauqua County Department of Health and Human Services' Home Finding Team will offer a Foster Parent Open House. During the event, attendees will learn about the various foster care and adoption programs and meet our Home Finding Team.

Mental Hygiene

  1. GLOW Your Mind 5K Run/Walk

    August 25, 2018, 8:30 PM - 10:00 PM

    The Community Alliance for Suicide Prevention, Chautauqua Tapestry, and Chautauqua County Department of Mental Hygiene will be holding their third annual GLOW Your Mind 5K Run/Walk on Aug. 25. The race will begin in front of the Northwest Arena and follow a route through Jamestown. Registration can be done online and the first 100 people registered by Aug. 9 will receive a free t-shirt. Registration completed by Aug. 20 is $20 for adults and $15 for youth ages 7-18. A $2.50 sign-up fee will also be applied. After the race there will be an After Glow party outside of the arena, which will feature award presentations, snacks, non-alcoholic beverages, and live music. All of the proceeds raised by the event stay local and will be used for suicide prevention efforts in Chautauqua County.
